C. Peter Chen is a software engineer and historian based in New Jersey, United States. He currently holds application development and software engineering roles at a global visual communications services & solutions provider, while at the same time manages a portfolio of websites.

Pete received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Rutgers University.

Software Engineer

Pete has professional experience in corporate and higher education environments, working with a wide range of things which include, but not limited to, object oriented programming, relational database design, and Windows server administration. Specific technologies he has used professionally include Java, Apache/Tomcat, Eclipse, ASP, IIS, Visual Studio, PL/SQL, and Oracle database. He also has consulting experience with an educational services firm several small businesses. Pete began to publish some of his code samples at http://dev-notes.com in spring 2008.

Historian

Pete founded the history website World War II Database (WW2DB) in late 2004 and now operates the site as the managing editor. In addition to have designed the site layout and the relational database structure, he also performs research, writes content, edits submissions from contributors, and manages relationships with advertisers. Pete developed of a custom photo gallery for WW2DB with PHP with a MySQL database backend and achieved excellent Google ranking scores for the website through continuous search engine optimization (SEO).

Pete is also on the staff of The Imperial Japanese Navy Page, also known as CombinedFleet.com.
